This thesis deals with issues of corporate governance and ownership concentration in the Czech Republic. First, the developments of the 1990s are reviewed and the role of privatization and institutional framework in these developments is scrutinized. Then, the current situation in the Czech corporate sector (among companies listed on the Prague Stock Exchange in particular) is examined. Hungary is used as a comparison to the Czech Republic.
Tato rigorózní práce se zabývá otázkami corporate governance a koncentrace vlastnictví v České republice. Nejprve je nastíněn vývoj během devadesátých letech a role privatizace a institucionálního prostředí v tomto procesu. Poté je blíže zkoumána současná situace v korporátním sektoru, a to zejména společností kótovanýh na Burze cenných papírů v Praze. Práce porovnáná situaci v České republice se situací v Maďarsku.
